The City is seeking a candidate for the Animal Control Officer position.
Animal Control Officer assists in maintaining the animal control facility in a clean and orderly condition.
This is a part time/on call entry-level position. Weekends and holidays hours may be required. Applicant must be able to pass a stringent background check and complete a drug test.
Must have the following:
- Valid California driver’s license
Within one year of employment, must have the following:
- Complete a Penal Code 832 course
- Peace officers standard training baton certification
- First Aid and CPR certification
- State certified euthanasia certification
- Every individual holding this position must possess and maintain all certificates, licenses and registrations required by law at the current time or in the future
Essential duties include: feed, bathe and care for impounded animals; participate in euthanasia and disposal of animals as required; explain and understand city animal control ordinances to the public and other interested persons; prepare reports of impounded animals and of fees collected; patrols city roads to locate, capture and impound stray and injured animals.
