Shasta Lake Gateway Library

Your Gateway to Knowledge

The Shasta Lake Gateway Library (SLGL) has been a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) public library serving the community since January 1994. The Library's goal has always been to provide library services to the community, with the assistance of volunteers and "Friends of the Library" making regular donations of books, magazines, or money for the operation of the library. Library materials can be checked out for free with a current library card from SLGL.

Hours and Location

Winter Hours
Monday through Friday 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Saturdays 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

Located at: Shasta Lake Visitor's Center, 1525 Median, Shasta Lake, CA 96019

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are always welcome. The SLGL is 100% staffed with volunteers. If you are interested in this rewarding experience, please come to the library during regular business hours and set up a schedule. The library is listed as a Youth Agency with the State of California, therefore volunteers must fill out information that includes fingerprint clearance in order to work with the public. There are also many other opportunities to work at various community events.

How to Donate

Friends of the Library are persons who make regular donations of books, magazines, or money for the operation of the library. All Library donations are an eligible tax deduction. We ask for donations to be small (no more than 25 books per month), and prefer recent or current fiction and non-fiction books in good condition. Please no books that have been in storage for an extended period of time.

If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Library or to make a donation, please come by during the hours of operation.
