Adoption Information

Overview

Impounded animals are held for four days to allow the owner to reclaim their pet. If an adoptable animal is not reclaimed during that time, the animal is put up for adoption to the public. If an owner surrenders a pet to Animal Control it is made available for adoption that day. The shelter does not adopt out aggressive, sick, injured, or nuisance animals. The pets need forever-homes, so please take the time to make sure the pet is right for you and your family. All adoptions are final.

Costs

If you decide that adoption is the right choice for you, an Animal Control officer will be happy to help you pick out your new family member.

Adoption Fee $10.00
Feline Spay/Neuter   $60.00 - $ 77.00
Canine Spay/Neuter  $81.00 - $144.00

Shelter Hours of Operation

The Shasta Lake Animal Control Facility is located at 3025 Ashby Road, Shasta Lake, CA 96019 (Pine Grove to Ashby). The hours of operation are as follows: 

Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am to 11:00 a.m.
